posted (June 26, 2019)

Last night we told you about the tourist who was beaten and robbed in Sarteneja, Corozal.

Well, tonight, more is known.  First off, the good news: he was transferred to the KHJMH and is in a stable condition.

Second, here’s what happened: On Monday evening the 25 year old French tourist, named Gabriel Jacquet was visiting Sarteneja and tied his hammock in the Cancucito area near the sea.  No one was really paying him too much mind, except for the criminals who pounced on him while he was sleeping.

At 5:30 resident found him bleeding from head injuries. Jacquet - who lives in Mexico City - had been robbed.  Police are tying to finds who did it, while Jacquet is at at the KHMH in a stable condition.

We are told there was no police officer in the village when it happened, and no nurse.
