"On Friday afternoon sometime around 3:30 pm a boat captain visited Placencia Police where he reported that earlier in the day he took out a group of eight tourists to do snorkeling near Caribou Caye. When they were ready to leave he discovered that a female tourist known as Gemma Paybarah, 46 years US national was missing from the group. When they commenced the tour she was, at the time accompanied by her husband and six other tourists. As a result, a search was conducted in the entire area however, they were unable to locate her. Sometime Saturday morning, shortly after 7:45 am a boat captain in the area, just South-West of Wewe Caye, discovered the body floating. As a result, he took the body on board his vessel where he headed to Placencia. A postmortem has since been conducted on the body, where she died from asphyxia as a result of inhalation of fluid, consistent with drowning."
