Cops Capture Stash House In Northside Neighborhood
posted (July 16, 2019)
And...if it weren't for that extraordinary and troubling outbreak of violence, tonight's headline would have been about good police work.

That's what we saw today, when acting on intelligence provided by special branch the GSU searched a residence near Driftwood Bay at mile 4 on the Phillip Goldson highway. It's a residential community, but this home was actually a stash house - used by a city gang to conceal large quantities of high grade marijuana brought in from Mexico and called Mexican Kush.

The tarpaulin all over the fence was there to conceal all that happened inside. And inside is where police found 27 packages of marijuana weighing 53 pounds. But it was concealed in a hidden compartment under the minivan.

Inside the house, police found two persons, a man and woman who were arrested. There was also $12,361 in assorted bills inside the house and another two pounds of weed found lying around - some of it under the van's seat, and the rest inside the house.

The home is believed to have been a stash house for a city gang. The FIU, the GSU and Special Branch are doing an investigation into a source of cash.

This quantity of drugs is believed to be valued at around 71 thousand dollars total at retail street prices.
