Mastering Marketing In The Ether

The Belize Tourism Board today held its fifth annual Digital Marketing Summit. The idea is to teach tourism business owners how to extend and expand their marketing reach through the clever use of free internet based platforms.

"The Digital Marketing Summit is a training opportunity that we provide our tourism stakeholder, mainly to increase their capacity in digital marketing fields, especially the 4 training pillars that we have for the summit, which is the social media, digital marketing, and a new one, influencer marketing. That is on the rise."

"In the digital world, lately, and of course branding. While we're building capacity to all our stakeholders, we're also building the overall digital footprint for Belize. So, them knowing a lot more about digital marketing, and keep it updated with digital marketing, they're not only marketing their properties, when they go back home, but they're marketing Belize as well. So, we're improving the overall digital footprint for Belize."

"More people talking about Belize, digitally, online, and if we have more presence online, the overall digital footprint for Belize grows. So, being on top of things, digitally, and with social media, it will grow the overall footprint for Belize digitally."

"I'm gonna talk about influencer marketing a lot because basically, that's what my life is about now, as I travel all around the world as an influencer, but also working full time as an agency owner. So, I'm gonna be able to give an insider look at the influencer lifestyle, how to monetize it, and how do influencers work with the marketing agencies, and how brands can use influencers to raises brand awareness, drive sales, and all those marketing related goals."

"I think there is some wisdom that I would like to impart to the people coming here to this digital marketing summit is that there is a science behind everything, and there is a method to this. And I would like to show some tips and tricks, particularly towards influencer marketing, as to what it is you should be doing for it to be impactful, and you have a return on investment."

"In the world of social media, one particular input on the internet, it could be like you're shouting into a very crowded room. No one hears you. How do you - or how do I as a business owner in Belize make sure that people pay attention to the product I'm trying to sell online?"

"I think the best way to make sure that people pay attention to you in the sea of information that's online, is to be authentic and know your audience. The key thing about the internet is that everybody leaves breadcrumbs. And long as you're able to understand who is it that you're targeting, why are you targeting them, then your message can be a lot more specific for them. The internet allows you to create specific groups, and find those people that wanna find you."

Faster than a facebook impression, the summit is a one day event.
