Last week we told you how a pair of men home invaded San Ignacio Mayor Earl Trapp. They assaulted him, and then stole his safe before running off into the night.
Well, 7News has confirmed that town police have recovered his safe - with all the contents missing - in a bushy lot fun the Bradley Bank area of the twin towns. It appears to have been blowtorched and then broken open.
We are told two persons are detained while police are seeking one more.
