Organizers say Miss Scuba is a pageant with a difference. And we won't argue; it's very different: the queen is appointed by National Director Zenaida Moya and her team.
And it's also different in another regard: it's not solely a beauty or scuba competition but it merges both to help raise awareness for marine conservation and celebrate the beautiful women - who look good with a an air tank on their backs. Today, Zenaida Moya called the media for the handover from outgoing Miss Scuba and dive master Monique Lamb, to her imposing successor, 21 year old Ms. Johnisha Ariola from Hopkins:
