Belize City messenger , 28-year-old, Gian Sosa of a King’s Park address is out on bail tonight for a drug trafficking charge after police allegedly busted him with three quarter pound of marijuana. 

Police say that on Monday, officers on patrol spotted Sosa at the roundabout which connects Chetumal Boulevard with the Philip Goldson Highway. He was on a motorcycle with a plastic bag on his handle, and according to the cops, he was acting suspiciously. So, they stopped and searched him. 

They found nothing on him, but when they removed the plastic bag from the motorcycle handle, they found a transparent plastic bag inside it, which contained suspected marijuana. They escorted him and the suspected drugs to the police station, and when they weighed it, they found that he was carrying 12.2 ounces of marijuana.

The officers charged him with drug trafficking, and he was arraigned today before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, and was released on bail of $1,500. He must return to court on September 25th, 2019.
