FBI Expert Testifies in Mason Trial
posted (July 26, 2019)
All this week, we've been reporting on the latest developments in the murder trial of William "Danny" Mason, Ashton Vanegas, Keiron Fernandez, Terrence Fernandez, and Ernest Castillo.

Since, Monday, DPP Cheryl-Lynn Vidal has been calling local and international forensics experts tie Mason and his co-defendants to the July 2016 beheading murder of Pastor Lewellyn Lucas.

Today, the DPP called 2 more FBI expert witnesses, including a special agent who testified that he transported several evidence samples from local forensic authorities to the FBI forensics lab in the US for testing.

Dr. Mario Estradabran was also called to testify in the case. He told the court that he conducted a post-mortem examination on Pastor Lucas' decapitated head, but the head alone was not enough for him to determine the victim's exact cause of death. He did note that an abnormal coloration on the brain indicated signs of life at the time when Pastor Lucas was beheaded. He also told the court about charred remains that were found at Mason's Outback Ranch, located at mile 31 on the George Price Highway.

Dr. Estradabran was able to identify multiple fragments of human bones. He told the court that in his expert opinion, these pieces of bones came from an adult male human.

So, what does all this forensics evidence mean for the 5 accused men? That's what our colleagues from Plus TV attempted to find out from defense attorney Norman Rodriguez. Here's what he said:

We'll keep following the case.
