Man Prosecuted For Being Gang Leader
posted (July 26, 2019)
Police are reporting tonight that they've successfully prosecuted another Belize City man for being a member of a criminal gang. This time around, however, they say that this defendant is actually a gang leader.

He's Christopher Hyde, and he was taken to the Magistrate's Court today for being the leader of the Rocky Road Bloods. When he was arraigned, Hyde wasted no time and pleaded guilty. The Magistrate has sentenced him to pay a fine of $5,000, and if he is unable to do so by the deadline, he will spend 5 years in default of payment.

Christopher Hyde made our newscast back in April 2014, shortly after he was acquitted of armed robbery. The victim, in that case, was businessman Vinod Chawla, and he told police that 3 armed men ambushed him and robbed him of $100,000. Hyde denied any involvement.
