The well-known Costa Maya Festival started last night in San Pedro, and this year, it is expected to attract especially large crowds for the Becky G concert.
Indeed, it is an international event, and BERT, The Belize Emergency Response Team has stepped up to the occasion. They are partnering with RRR Air Evac to have air ambulances at the ready.
BERT and the RRR Air Evac Team says they have strategically placed brand new, advanced life support equipment on their ground, complemented by air ambulances. There are also plans for the expansion of emergency services to areas not traditionally covered.
A press release claims that coordinated efforts between these 2 organizations have already seen some early successes, where patients have been rescued and successfully flown to higher-level care in Belize City.
