Faber Says BNTU Mis-Advising Teachers
posted (July 26, 2019)
Two weeks ago, the BNTU sent out a press release telling teachers not to fill out an application or the renewal of their teaching licenses which the ministry had sent out.

The BNTU said it would be meeting with the Ministry honchos to decide a way forward.

Well, that meeting hasn't happened yet, and, last week, EducatIon Minister Patrick Faber told LOVE TV that the teachers are putting themselves in peril:,..,.

Hon. Patrick Faber- Minister of Education
"The issue that we do have is that they have said to the teachers don't proceed until that discussion happens. Of course, this is going to create some problems for teachers. Those who do not apply will not have a valid license. They might not get paid, it will create some difficulty and this is what I'm trying to avoid. What it is that we are trying to do, as I explained this morning in great length, is not something that is pulled from the sky; It is in the law."

To our knowledge no date has yet been set for that meeting between the ministry and the union.
