Faber on FTC Fabrications
posted (July 26, 2019)
Education Minister Faber also commented on the court filing that the US Federal Trade Commission made in June. It's concerning the Sanctuary Bay debacle, and it makes allegations of meetings held, and undertakings given by the Prime Minister, Deputy Faber and others.

Now the PM has already flatly refuted the claims as completely false. Here's what Faber had to say about it:.

"Did Pukke or any of his associates or any of his representatives or associates approach you?"

Hon. Patrick Faber- Minister of Education
"Absolutely not. That was absolutely shocking to me. I have never met with anyone from Sanctuary Bay. Not at all, not even a hello or a goodbye. I don't know the name. Pukke, you said? I have knowledge of such individuals. Never met with them, I am absolutely amazed that my name is being called. I am lost."

Reporter
"Have you read the document."

Hon. Patrick Faber
"I have not read it in its entirety but the portions that had to do with me, yes. They were sent to me and I have looked at it."

Reporter
"What are your thoughts on the allegations in that very same portion where your name came up?"

Hon. Patrick Faber
"Well, as I've said, if they can be so bold as to call my name when in fact I did not meet with them, it causes me to question all that they have said."

The US Embassy in Belize put out a statement saying, quote, "The FTC is an independent entity, whose views and actions do not represent those of the U.S. government. Neither U.S. Embassy Belmopan nor the State Department contributed to or approved the FTC's arguments as presented in its filing….we strongly caution against making any accusations based on the filing.
