posted (July 29, 2019)
And, another relatively young man from the north died this weekend in a construction accident.

26 year old Roy Pott was working at a water plant in Carmelita Village, Orange Walk. He and others were digging out a large cavity for an underground reservoir at a privately owned water plant.

But, suddenly, the earthen wall fell on him. Police told us more:

ACP Joseph Myvette- Head of NCIB
"Saturday evening, sometime after 5 pm, Orange Walk police was called to a construction site in Carmelita. Upon arrival they observed a deep hole being dug and a male person with injuries was in there being lifted out and his name was learnt to be Roy Pott, 27 years. Apparently, whilst he was working, a portion of the hole caved in on him which caused him some severe injuries and as a result, he ended up succumbing to those injuries whilst undergoing treatment at the Norther Regional Hospital."
