Switching gears now from crime…
Belize's Parliament is concerned about the rising rate of hunger and malnutrition in Belize, and so, they've decided to take direct action against it.
They have formed a bipartisan organization called the Belize Parliamentary Alliance against Hunger and Malnutrition. In theroy, the Alliance will use its legislative power to make policy and legislation changes to lessen the number of Belizeans being negatively affected by these 2 social ills.
The Alliance was launched publicly at a ceremony today at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex, and 7News was there. Here's what the House Speaker had to say about how it will work:
The next step for the alliance is to hold sensitization sessions wit the Government technocrats who are knowledgeable on this topic.
