Businessman Loses 40K In Armed Robbery

A businessman from Caye Caulker was robbed yesterday of nearly $40,000 in jewelry, cash, and other personal belongings.

Steven Arnold, a businessman living on Front Street on the island reported to police that at around 2:30 p.m. yesterday, he was in front of a shop on Faux Avenue when he was approached by 2 men. One of them was armed with a .38 revolver, and that man held him up. They then robbed him of all his jewelry, valued at $36,000, as well as $2,500 in cash.

Not satisfied with those stolen valuables, the thieves then robbed another man of his cellular phone. After they relieved him of his phone, they escaped.
