While the fisheries department is working specifically on queen conch management, the UK and Belize governments are working on a holistic plan to further develop Belize's coastal and marine resources to stimulate economic growth. The Belize Coastal Zone Management and Institute will be hosting a series of meetings with the office of the British High Commissioner to discuss all the details of this master plan. The team is expected to have a draft master plan by the end of the year and an official country sign off on the master plan by 2020. The UK government is implementing this master plan in 8 countries.
