posted (August 1, 2019)
This morning at the police press briefing - they didn't have the name of the deceased yet but they described the physical state of the body that the cops encountered:..

ASP Alejandro Cowo - OC, CIB Belize City
"This morning at about 8:30, police were called to the Burrell Boom Road, where police, upon arrival, about 500 feet off the old Burrell Boom Bridge, about 10 feet off Boom road, they observed the body of a person wrapped up in a plastic bag, and a blue trampoline. The body was recently removed from the scene, and it was taken to the medical college for a post-mortem, as it is in an advanced state of decomposition. Up to now, we have not determined the identity of the person, but we have received information of a possible identity. So, we are trying to contact family members at this moment."

"Were there any injuries observe that this was a murder?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo
"I cannot tell you exactly if there were any injuries because of the state of decomposition. We have to wait until the doctor does the post-mortem, and he will guide us from there on."

Reporter
"Sir, given that the victim was wrapped up in the fashion that the person was, it suggests maybe a body dump in a fashion like that."

ASP Alejandro Cowo
"Yes, that is what we believe, that the body was dumped at that location."

A post mortem conducted on site found that he died from traumatic asphyxiation due to partial decapitation due to a sharp instrument. The family had to quickly bury his decomposing body this afternoon.
