Man Takes Plea and Prison for Gun and Weed
posted (August 15, 2019)
Yesterday morning, a special branch led operation descended on a home in Ladyville. The police went to 313 Lily Road and saw someone throw a black object through the window.

When the cops retrieved the object they saw that it was a 9 millimeter Taurus pistol with 3 rounds of ammunition in its magazine. As a result all three persons at the home were arrested and charged.

Police also searched a barrel inside a bedroom in the house they found 531 grams of cannabis or about a pound. So, the trio was also charged with drug trafficking.

All three went to court today, but 32 year old Lord's Bank fisherman Raymond Dyer took the rap. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 3 years for the firearm, 3 years for the ammunition and 3 years for drug trafficking. Chief Magistrate Fraser specified that the sentences are to run concurrently so Dyer will only serve 3 years.

Charges were withdrawn against the other two.
