The UDP Leadership convention will be held on February 9th, 2020, and the smart money says Prime Minister Dean Barrow won't stick around every long after that. In fact, some speculate that he could be gone before the 2020 - 2021 Budget is presented in March.
So - if he were to be elected party leader - is Deputy Patrick Faber getting ready to take over? We discussed it with him today:..

"That's a decision that the Prime Minister would have to make and as he said that's a decision that he will make on the counsel of the NPC and of cabinet of course."

"Are you preparing in your mind that whatever happens, that as the deputy prime minister..."

"The possibility is there. It's very evident, I am ready to take on that mantle should I become the leader of the party, yes."
Faber's next big event is in early September when he will have a divisional endorsement at the Civic Centre.
