Last week, we told you about the senseless murder of Ofelia Hernandez. She's the 69-year-old Mexican woman who was killed inside her home on the Salt Creek Road in Sand Hill Village. The PUP's United Women's Group is now speaking out on this terrible crime.
A press release says quote "The United Women's Group… condemns the brutal murder of a hardworking, elderly woman in what should have been the safety of her own home in Sandhill on Tuesday...This heinous attack comes on the heels of the murders of two elderly gentlemen in the Cayo District who were likewise brutally killed a few weeks ago. ...The viciousness of the act is appalling and speaks to a total breakdown in our social fabric, as well as disregard and lack of respect or fear for the justice system which has failed all Belizeans time and time again." End quote.
