Switching now to a police matter that intersects with politics - the new PUP Senator Designate, Dr. Louis Zabaneh claims he had a harsh introduction to the Parliament building on Friday from no less than the mace bearer, Sergeant at Arms, Brian Audinett, known as Yellowman.
Zabaneh - who is the PUP standard bearer for Dangriga and was in the gallery at Friday's House meeting. He made a police complaint that Audinett insulted him. We heard the commissioner got involved to tell police not to act on the complaint, so we asked him why today:

"What I was briefed about was that Mr. Zabaneh had reported that Mr. Audinett had called him a thief in the house and that he had asked Mr. Audinett why is he calling him a thief and Mr. Audinett constantly saying to him that he is a thief. I have not been briefed on anything to say that Mr. Audinett had threatened to cause bodily harm to Mr. Zabaneh. So the fact that I was briefed that he is alleging that Mr. Audinett is calling him a thief I said that is not a matter for the police. That would be a civil matter. If it is that Mr. Zabaheh feels that his character is being defamed by Mr. Audinett calling him a thief, then that is not something for the police to deal with."
Reports are that Audinett will be taken before the House Staff Committee for a disciplinary hearing.
