posted (August 22, 2019)

On Monday's news, we told you about the shooting of 44-year-old Belize City resident, Brindel Munnings.

On Sunday night at around 11:00, he had just left his home, located near the Inspiration Center. He was riding his bicycle on the way to Police Street, but before he arrived there, a gunman ambushed him in the alley and shot him multiple times. He was rushed to the KHMH in a critical condition.

Police say his condition has worsened:

Reporter
"Mr. Brindell Munnings, we understand that his condition has changed for the worse."

Supt. Alejandro Cowo - OC, CIB Belize City
"He remains, as far as we know, in a critical condition. Police are still looking for a male person who we suspect was involved in this shooting."

Reporter
"Sir, information to our newsroom suggests that Mr. Munnings was not the intended target, rather, some young men who live in that general vicinity, who have come in conflict with the law."

Supt. Alejandro Cowo
"We spoke to persons in the area, and we know that he was the only person at the time when the shooting happened. And we have spoken to other family members, and as I mentioned on Monday. We had received certain information, and we believe that yes, he was the target for that shooting."
