Abducted Girl Ran To Bank to Escape Captor
posted (August 26, 2019)
A 15 year old girl who had been abducted in Cayo was rescued in - of all places - a bank on Friday, the Belize Bank in downtown Belize City, to be exact.

Bank staff called the police around 4:00, three hours after a man - who she worked for over the summer abducted her in Cayo.

Police told us more:...

ACP Joseph Myvett
"On Friday, Belize City police visited a business on Regent Street where they met and spoke with a 15-year-old female minor who gave them certain information and as a result of that she was then escorted by the police to San Ignacio where she was handed over, where she met her mother and during the process she reported to police that on the said Friday, sometime after 1p.m., while she was walking in the area of the San Ignacio Welcome Center, she was approached by a male person known to her as Shish, whom she's familiar with. He then took away her cell phone and forced her into a vehicle and drove her to Belize City. During the journey to Belize City he attempted to sexually assault her several times. When they reached Belize City and were in traffic on Regent Street, due to the density of traffic the vehicle had to stop and that is how she managed to make her escape and made her way to the business. So far the suspect remains at large and we are seeking him in relation to this investigation."

The suspect, with the last name Shish is still at large tonight.

The Bank's staff not only called the police, reports are they also hid the terrified teen deep inside the bank.
