Cougar Sighted Prowling in a Ladyville Backyard
posted (August 26, 2019)
Yesterday in the Lake Gardens area of Ladyville, a homeowner looked out her window and saw an intruding animal. But it wasn't a raccoon, or a squirrel, or event a rat: she saw a full grown mountain lion claiming down a tree in her back yard! That's the right the mature wildcat, which is also called "Puma" locally, had perched himself up in a tree, and was coming down without much worries.

But, it's a big worry for area residents who say the cat already took a dog in the area some months ago.

And, now, they've called the Forestry and Wildlife Department to come in and get the big cat out of there.

Forestry says they first need to see if it's still in the area so they will set up camera traps to see if it comes around again. Those should be set up this week. We'll keep following the story.
