Alleged Burglar With Broken Legs
posted (August 29, 2019)

Thirty-six year old Leon Duncan, a security guard at Gwen Lizarraga High School, was wheeled into court today with his two broken legs to answer to a charge of burglary.

Last week he told us that it’s the police who broke his legs simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.  He says the police beat him viciously because he refused to disclose the identities of two men who were fleeing after burglarizing an apartment.

But, police say he is the burglar.  The incident happened a week ago at an apartment on Antelope Street Extension.

School teacher, Melvin Armstrong reported that when he arrived at his apartment he saw two men fleeing. Armstrong attempted to pursue the burglars; and one of them managed to escape by jumping over a fence. But when the second person scaled the fence, he apparently made a bad landing and broke his legs. And that’s allegedly Leon Duncan with the broken legs.

Duncan pleaded not guilty. He was released on a bail of $3,000 and his case was adjourned until October 29.
