A 51 year old fisherman who was allegedly caught with 39 undersized lobster tails pleaded not guilty today. Evaristo Pedro Tun from Chunox village says he is not guilty of possession of the lobster weighing less than four ounces. The Fisheries Department claims they found the stash on a sailboat named, “Lizeni†on August 7 east of Cockroach Caye in the Turneffe Atoll Marine Reserve.
Tun, appeared before Senior Magistrate, Tricia Pitts-Anderson in Court #3 where he was read a single charge of possession of undersized lobster tails. Pitts-Anderson offered him bail in the sum of $1,000 dollars. He is due back in Court #3 on October 1, 2019.
