Yesterday a Mexican Congressman visited the new Belize Mexico sports facility near the Marion Jones Stadium.  

We met Raul Sanchez Barrales outside that new facility where he gave big props to new president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and told us - through a translator that he was here to revive relations between Belize and Mexico:…

"We've always considered Mexico and Belize to be a brotherhood neighbours and for some reason it has been stuck for a while, so with a new government in Mexico, we're trying to revive that condition. One of the traditions on the region was always the Caribbean Festival for some time it has been lost, so now the federal government is trying to is to revive that. Now the project is being turned over to the new government between Mexico and Central America, you can see it by the installations of the gym. It's a brotherhood that's been reunited once again and it's just only one of the projects that is being inforced, many more to come."

The Belize Mexico Sporting Complex is very near completion and is scheduled to be opened next year.
