Two weeks ago, we told you about the 15 year old girl from Cayo who had to dash into the Belize Bank in downtown Belize City to escape a man who had abducted her.
Today, San Ignacio police charged her alleged abductor; he is San Antonio Villager, 45 year old Bartolo Shish. He was charged today for forcible abduction and sexual assault.
On Friday, August 23rd the girl claims that she was walking in downtown San Ignacio, when Shish - who is her former employer - approached her. She claims he grabbed her phone out of her hands and forced her into a black SUV and drove all the way to Belize City. While driving, the minor claims that Shish was trying to fondle her. When they got into Belize City - his vehicle got stuck in traffic and she jumped out of the vehicle and dashed into the Belize Bank and asked for help. Bank staff his her inside while they waited for police.
Shish denies the allegation - and claims that she consented to travel with him and was not being held against her will.
Shish has been in the news before; in 2016 he was charged for a murder in Spanish Lookout.
