Mother Still Doesn’t Know For Sure Of Her Son’s Demise
posted (September 4, 2019)
And so, while this mother from Roaring Creek Village is worried about the wellbeing and reputation of her son, Brian Orellana, she is also looking for closure on her other son, who has been missing and presumed dead for over a year.

You'll remember the case of 20-year-old Oswald Arnold. He left his family's home on the evening of May 17th of last year. He told his mother, Rosita Orellana, that he was going to the river with friends, and that he would be back on the following day.

That was the last time he was seen, and 6 months later, in November, human remains - believed to be his - was found in an area across the river from Teakettle Village. The cops also found clothing and an expended shotgun shell nearby.

Since then, Rosita has been forced to wait for the results of DNA tests that were sent abroad. Police want absolute confirmation that this body is his, while Rosita intuitively knows that this is her son. Today, she described the anguish she's facing while she waits all these long months for these DNA results to come back:

Rosita Orellana, Mother
"So far the remains are still out. We are just waiting for the DNA to come in back so that yes they are sure that that is Oswald's remains. I stayed in contact with the doctor. Up to yesterday I called him and he said nothing has come in yet."

Reporter
"So how long has this been?"

Rosita Orellana
"Well they have the remains from the eight of November 2018."

Reporter
"How do you know for certain ma'am?"

Rosita Orellana
"He still had on the same clothes, same height, everything and that is how I know him by. A mother will know his child."

Reporter
"Do you have suspicions to what happened, how he was killed?"

Rosita Orellana
"No, I don't have any suspicious. I will be honest to you. I just wanted to find his remains. I thank God that they found it. I am just waiting for the results. Whatsoever happened after that, it doesn't matter me. I am satisfied with my son's remains."

Reporter
"Did you expect for it to take so long?"

Rosita Orellana
"No I didn't expect it to take so long."

She tells us that the authorities are not sure when these results will be ready.
