A groundbreaking was held this morning to officially mark the start of construction for the new Caye Caulker Craft Market.
The idea is to enhance the visitors' experience, and create another legitimate attraction on the island which is the second most visited destination in Belize. It got 178,133 visits in 2018 - up thirty thousand from the year before.

The craft market will be financed by the Belize Tourism Board and entails construction of five buildings with four booths each for a total of 20 booths; each approximately 80 square feet. These buildings will be hurricane proof secured with wooden storm windows and doors.
