posted (September 11, 2019)
Tonight, 21-year-old Jason Anderson, a resident of Supal Street, is at the Belize Central Prison after being accused of carrying out a brazen, broad-daylight shooting last weekend, which left 2 men injured

According to police at around 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 8th, 20-year-old Luquan Flowers and 20-year-old Mark Phillips were standing near the corner of George Street and Kut Avenue. That's when a silver SUV approached them from the direction of Kut Avenue, and when the vehicle came close enough, one of its occupants pulled out a gun and fired several shots at the two young men.

When they sped off, Flowers realized that he was injured to his right leg. Phillips was hit by 2 of those bullets to the left calf and the left side of his buttocks.

Police investigated their complaint, and they say that when they detained Anderson, both victims identified him as their assailant. So, police arrested and charged him with 2 counts of attempted murder, 2 counts of grievous harm, and 2 counts of use of deadly means of harm.

Anderson was arraigned today before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford, and due to the nature of the offenses, no plea was taken from him, and he also couldn't be granted bail. The Senior Magistrate remanded him into custody until November 9th, his next court date.
