Cops Haven't Forgiven nor Forgotten San Victor Mob
posted (September 12, 2019)

Yesterday at the meet and greet in Corozal, Commissioner Chester Williams gave us an update on the San Victor showdown. Two police officers were injured while two civilians were shot during the contraband bust. Well, Williams says his officers acted in self-defense when they shot the two villagers and that the two residents will be charged when they are released from the hospital in Mexico.

Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police
"That matter is still being looked at. We're still looking at the circumstances as well as looking for those persons who were involved and who may have also caused injured to officers. We have not been able to locate those persons and as you rightly pointed out, two of the person were injured and were taken to the Mexican side to seek medical attention, and so we are waiting for them to be released from the hospital in Mexico and if they come over to Belize then we will see what we can do to proceed on that matter. The police officers were injured and so, the first charge will be whatever degree of injuries the doctor certified the police officers, either wounding or harm. Other that then will be obstruction for those who have caused the persons arrested to have escaped from the police and those persons who were detained and subsequently escaped, then that is also resisting arrest or escape from lawful custody."

"And in regards to the shooting of the residence?"

Chester Williams
"What about it? If the police is the one who shot them, then the police did so in self-defence, and so at the end of the day, like said, once they are released from the hospital, they will be dealt with by the police."
