Accused Murder and Gangster Troy Hyde Doubles Up On Bail
posted (September 13, 2019)
He's on bail for murder and so it wasn't surprising when 32 year old Troy Hyde was remanded after he was charged for being a gang member.

But, tonight, after a week in prison, the alleged killer is back out - after his attorney, Norman Rodriguez convinced the Supreme Court to grant him five thousand dollars bail. Justice Colin Williams agreed to the bail, against the strong objections of the DPP's office.

Norman Rodriguez said bail should have been granted:

Norman Rodriguez - Attorney for Troy Hyde
"I like that the court decided to grant him bail because this issue of being a gang member and being charged for it, from what I've seen in the few appearances that I had to make in relation to this charge, the facts that are being presented are too weak and as the judge rightfully said this morning that you have to do a proper investigation. You can't just pick up a man and charged him and then investigate. I've been saying this over and over. So he got his bail and that is one instance when bail is granted, but I can think of the many young men out there who are charged and sometimes charged because somebody believe that they don't like them and they want to take away their freedom and then go before the court, they are remanded until their trial date."

Hyde is on bail for the murder of Kareem "Robbery" Lopez, and now also on bail for being a member of a gang- the LBC, or Long Beach Crips.

A number of men charged for being a member of a gang remain on remand, while many others have taken a guilty plea.
