And while the Ministry of Health says that fish from the New River in Orange Walk is safe from mercury, you definitely don't want to be eating anything from that river right now. That's because it is polluted, and the environmental authorities are hard at work to try and rehabilitate it.
As we reported yesterday, the Department of Environment has observed some positive changes in the oxygen levels for the river, since they started installing mechanical aerators at strategic locations.
