Last night we showed you the dramatic chase - down of a Benny’s shoplifter.  He is 56 year old Bert Keith Sylvester.  And, after three nights in lockdown, he wasted no time and pleaded guilty to stealing a bag of 100 hag saw blades valued at $254.00.  

And for his candor - he escaped jail time. Magistrate Palmer imposed a non-custodial sentence of a fine of $500 plus a $5.00 cost of court fine of which he is to pay by December 1, 2019, in default, 5 months’ imprisonment.

He left the court with a smile - the first time he’s been free since Monday afternoon when he was bumped off his bicycle as he tried to escape a very aggressive citizen’s arrest.
