The accused is twenty-two year old Giselle Vasquez. She was charged with burglary when she appeared today before Magistrate Emerson Banner. Vasquez was also charged with aggravated assault, harm, threat of death and damage to property.

The incident happened on Monday evening around 5:00. Forty-one year old Cordia Harris, a resident of 36 Allan Pitts Crescent, says she was lying on her bed inside her apartment, when Vasquez entered uninvited and lashed her with two machetes.

Vasquez then left and went to the lower flat. She allegedly stomped open the door of 24 year old Heidy Velasquez's apartment, put one of the machetes to Velasquez's throat and threatened to kill her. Harris' 16 year old daughter reported to the police that when she heard Vasquez returning to her mother's apartment, she hid herself and she did not come out until she heard Vasquez leave the apartment. When she came out of her hiding place she discovered that her tablet was damaged.
