On Wednesday in New York - in the margins of the United Nations General Assembly meeting - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting with 14 CARICOM leaders - including Foreign Minister Wilfred Elrington. Modi announced a 14 million US dollar grant for community development projects in CARICOM and another 150 million US dollar line of credit for solar, renewable energy and climate change related projects.
A tweet from India's Ministry of External Affairs says Modi also announced the setting up of a Regional Vocational Training Center in Belize.
