A farmer was viciously chopped to death in Pomona village. On Sunday night at 7:00, 42 year old Angelica Chacon reported that her 32 year old common law, Domingo Miguel Mathias was missing. He went to his farm about 3/4 mile outside Pomona earlier that day - and didn't return.
Here worst fears were confirmed just before midnight when a search party found him dead - chopped up in a corn field.
Police told us more today:..

"The search party went back and sometime shortly before mid-night his body was discovered near his corn field with chop wounds and motionless. As a result, the scene was processed and his body was removed to the southern regional hospital where it was pronounced dead. What we know so far is that the deceased seemingly had a recent altercation with a villager, whom we are looking at this time, may be a suspect in this incident."
One suspect has been detained - and he is the man that the deceased had a fight with earlier on. Notably, the deceased was not robbed of his possessions.
