This morning around 9:30, the body of Salvadoran Ladyville resident Raul Rivelo was found in the river in the Manatee Lookout area. His friend, Guatemalan Landscaper Walter Gomez reported that on Monday afternoon, Rivelo was attempting to swim across the Belize River but he was about halfway across the river when he went under water and did not resurface. Police and Coast Guard personnel searched the area but did not find his body until this morning. The post mortem results show that Rivelo drowned. The results state "the cause of death was certified as due to Asphyxiation Inhalation of Fluids consistent with Drowning".
