COMPOL Meets With Media (Again)
posted (October 2, 2019)
Today, the Commissioner of police flanked by senior cops from the National Crimes Investigation Branch met with the media to iron out tensions that have recently arisen. As we've reported many times, the relationship between the media and the police has often been an uneasy truce - and, every six months or so, tensions flare, and both sides have to go back to the table.

Today's issues were about the timeliness of information from the police, what is categorized as major crime, and what is the police's duty to disseminate information.

In the end, as before, undertakings were made that both sides would work together to meet each other's expectations within very strictly prescribed limits.
