Belize City police are reporting tonight that they've made an arrest in last week's Wednesday's shooting of 42-year-old Eugene Tillett.
As we told you, Tillett was walking on Ebony Street, and he was heading to Central American Boulevard. But, he didn't make it because a man quickly approached him from behind and shot him in the abdomen.
Here are a few additional details which police shared with us at today's briefing:

"In regards to the shooting incident that occurred on Ebony Street, where Eugene Tillett was shot on Wednesday, the 2nd day of October 2019, police arrested and charged Ermon Tillett, a 27-year-old Belizean fisherman of Lavender Street, for attempted murder, dangerous harm, and use of deadly means of harm."

"Sir, now that someone has been charged, has police been able to determine what motivated this shooting?"

"We do not have a motive at this time. He just mentioned that he was shot by this person who was charged."
