Vicious Chopping In Trio Leaves Man Critical

So, while City cops are getting ready to arraign that man for last week's shooting, police investigators in Toledo are trying to find out who is responsible for a dangerous chopping incident in Trio Village, which left a 42-year-old man hospitalized with injuries to the neck.

Last night at around 9:00, Alejandro Xol, a Guatemalan resident of Trio, was in front of a supermarket in the village. That's when a man pulled out a machete and started swinging at him. The nature of their dispute is not known, but Xol was injured to the neck. He had to be transported to the Southern Regional Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

At today's press briefing, the Deputy Head of the National Criminal Investigations Branch shared told us what investigators know at this time about this incident:

"Police responded to a report of a chopping incident in Trio Village. Upon their arrival, they received information that one Alejandro Xol, a 42-year-old Guatemalan national, was chopped to the neck, and was taken to the Southern Regional Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition. We're looking for one suspect."

"This happened near a supermarket in Trio Village."
