A Slaying In Succotz of A Man Far From Home
posted (October 11, 2019)
There was a ghastly discovery at a Succotz home this morning. The mutilated body of 56 year old Santa Familia resident Juan De La Cruz Carrias better known as Johnny was found inside a makeshift house.

Carrias had been chopped and stabbed to death. When we spoke to his family this evening, they say they have no idea why he was killed nor who would want him dead. They also say that they don't know how his body ended up at that Succotz home. One version of what may have happened is that Carrias was at his Santa Familia home early this morning and he received phone call and left. But again, the family says they can't confirm or deny that at this point. Here is what the daughter had to say off camera.

Voice of: Idolly Sanchez, Daughter
"It was when I got the news, actually it was my sister who called me, it was so difficult for us. I was in a shock, I was confused, I could not believe what happened until right now the whole family is devastated, we don't understand really what happened. We are not getting any clear report about what exactly went on."

"The way he died, it is so hard for us to believe, he was a strong man, how he was attacked that way I don't know, we can't tell you much because we do not know."

Courtney Weatherburne, reporter
"You said you are getting so many conflicting reports some neighbors say he was here this morning others say that is not the case?"

Voice of: Idolly Sanchez, Daughter
"Yes exactly, we do not know, I can't tell you what happened or what time it happened, what time they killed him, who did it, we do not know anything."

"He had a lot of friends, the family is very big, most of the time he would be here spending time with his friends, anywhere he would go he would meet friends. He was well known a very friendly person."

We also spoke to a Succotz resident who lives near where Carrias' body was found. She is as clueless as everyone else. She says she does not know who lives at the house but she can confirm that it is occupied.

Voice of: Resident
"In the morning I pass there, the house was open when I came back on the road I see a lot of police and he told me a man is dead, but I get like, I don't know, I get scared, they told me if I hear something but you know when you feel sick or they feel bad I don't hear anything exactly."

Courtney Weatherburne:
"I showed you a picture of Mr. Carrias you are not familiar with him, you have never seen him around here at all?"

Voice of: Neighbor:
"No, never, exactly, that is strange around here because never we see him here."

Carrias leaves behind 11 kids.
