BEL Linesmen To Let There Be Light On Abaco Island
posted (October 15, 2019)
On Sunday, a team of Belize Electricity Limited employees travelled to the Bahamas to assist the island's electricity company, Bahamas Power and Light, with power restoration efforts on the storm-battered Abaco Island.

Dorian, a category five hurricane, claimed 61 lives and caused massive devastation to the Abaco and Grand Bahama islands during the first three days of September.

The BEL team will join other Caribbean Electric Utility Services Co. member utilities who have committed to assisting BPL with rebuilding its electrical infrastructure.

The team, comprising of Leroy Matura, Brian Gentle, Gregory Kerr, Alfeo Williams and James Teul, is set to return to Belize in November.
