Western Union Robbers In a Red Ride With No Plates
posted (October 16, 2019)
Another Zitro Western Union has been targeted by armed robbers. It happened this afternoon at the Zitro Western Union in Orange Walk Town - right in the main on the Belize/Corozal road.

At 2:28 pm, a red Ford Escape without license plates pulls up and lets out two men. They walk into the cash transfer business where the cashier was behind the counter. The man wearing a long black pants with yellow shirt and a cap on his head entered first, followed seconds by the other wearing a white shirt with green stripes.

Inside, the man in the yellow shirt then wedged a hand gun to the security guard's side and threw him to the floor while the other man went over to the cashier and demanded money. Fearing for her life she handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The men then walked out in the waiting SUV.

Police are reviewing multiple surveillance cameras in the area and looking for suspects. So far they have seen that the unlicensed SUV pulls up and drops the men off - and then circles back. The men spent five minutes inside before leaving with the cash.
