And while that happened in Belmopan Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal held a preliminary hearing for Bert Vasquez in Belize City.
He's appealing his conviction for forcible abduction and aggravated assault of an indecent nature that got him a 10 year sentence.
Vasquez again appeared as his own attorney - and Justice of Appeal Samuel Awich informed him that his case will go to trial in the court's March session. It will come up for case management in February.
So, nothing dramatic happened and when Vasquez left court he maintained his innocence to the press as the prison guards whisked him away.
