Chester In Chile
posted (October 22, 2019)
Last week Commissioner Of Police Chester Williams attended the 88th Interpol General Assembly in Santiago Chile. Yesterday he gave the press a brief recap of that trip including a word or two about how he's doing after the car accident that he was involved in while there.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"The conference basically involved the discussion of global law enforcement issues as well as strategies that are being developed through Interpol to be able to address the phenomena of crime worldwide. It had representatives from 144 countries along with their Interpol representatives and basically the meeting went well. They had a few elections of committee members who were added to Interpol Executive, and so I see it as a very beneficial conference in the sense that there was a lot to be learnt in the sense of combating crime especially transnational crime and we see that human trafficking, gang issues, cybercrime were the three salient issues during the conference, and so we're looking at different strategies that will be applied globally to be able to deal with those respective identified issues."

"As you can see I am in one piece, yes it was an unfortunate situation. I still have a little pain in my right knee but daily I'm improving. I'm at work alive and kicking, and the work continues."

Commissioner Of Police Williams also spoke briefly about Belize's good standing in global Interpol and highlighted three arrests for extradition within the past month including a Salvadorean, a Honduran, and an American.
