5 Year Old Girls Molested By 14 Year Old Boy in Stann Creek
posted (October 23, 2019)
Two highly disturbing cases of unlawful sexual intercourse with minors were reported in Sitee River over the weekend.

What makes these cases even more disturbing, however, is that the victims are little girls, just 5 years old, and the alleged assailant in both cases is a 14 year old boy.

Police are moving very carefully with the investigation, and involving social sector partners because of the difficult and sensitive nature of the case - involving all minors. The head of National Crimes Investigation shared preliminary details earlier today at the Training Academy in Belmopan..

ACP Joesph Myvette
"What we know so far is that on Sunday a 24 year old woman from Sittee River village visited Hopkins police station accompanied by her 5 year old daughter, where she reported to the police that her daughter made a complaint to her that she was assaulted by a young man who lives in that immediate vicinity. There was also a second complaint made where an older man accompanied by his 5 year old niece visited as well, the Hopkins police station, and made a similar report. A medical examination was done on both of those 5 year old female children where one of them is said to have been carnally known. Whilst the other, there seemed to have been no sexual activity. It is a matter being investigated at this time. The human development department has been brought on board. From what the police has been able to gather so far is that the accused person in these incidents seems to be a 14 year old male, and so we are in the process of continuing the investigation and thereafter whatever is gathered evidential wise will be compiled and sent to the DPP for her direction."

"This has o be carefully looked at putting together the evidence in order for the DPP to decide whether or not there is a sufficient amount of evidence, whether or not he should face any charges or so, hence the reason for a proper investigation."
