One Charged, One Wanted For Gentle Murder

On Wednesday night 26 year old, Daren Gentle, the son of C.E.O of the Ministry of works Errol Gentle, was shot and killed in Orange Walk. It happened on a feeder road near A&R in Orange Walk - and looks like it was a setup. Gentle and a partner were conducting a roadside transaction when they were shot at by a man who emerged from the bushes. Gentle sustained a fatal injury while his partner escaped on foot.

Tonight, police are saying that 28 year old Micheal McDougall, a resident of Belize City, is the gunman. He was charged for Gentle's murder and arraigned in the Orange Walk Magistrate's Court. Police still have other persons detained:

"In respect to the recent murder of Darren Gentle in Orange Walk this morning police have since arrested and charged Micheal McDougall so far one other person remains at large. He is wanted in relation to this investigation."

"At this point in time we are still trying to ascertain what exactly happened that night aside from the explanation given by the witness police have also been doing their own investigations and are following several leads which eventually lead to this arrest. So far but it's an ongoing investigation at this point."

Gentle has been remanded for murder.

Police have the name of their other main suspect.
