San Pedro Police got a high-powered weapon off the streets of that island Town.
Yesterday, at around 1:30 p.m., officers were conducting a joint anti-drug operation in the San Mateo area. While canvassing, they came upon a yellow plastic bag, which contained 10 live rounds of 7.62 ammunition. The officers believed that there was something else, and after thoroughly searching the area, they came upon this AK-47 assault rifle, which had a silver magazine.
Since no one was in the area when the gun and ammunition were found, they were deposited as found property.
